HomeRating.ie is operated by Home Energy Rating Solutions, based in Blackrock, County Dublin, Ireland. We provide BER (Building Energy Rating) assessment services across Dublin and Leinster. Our contact details: email justin@homerating.ie, phone 087 777 4155.
What Information We Collect
When you contact us for a quote or book a BER assessment, we collect your name, phone number, email address, property address or Eircode, and the reason for your BER assessment. During the BER assessment itself, we collect property data as required by SEAI for the BER calculation (building dimensions, construction details, heating systems, etc.). This property data is uploaded to the SEAI National Administration System as part of the statutory BER registration process.
How We Use Your Information
We use your personal information to provide the BER assessment service you've requested, to communicate with you about your assessment and deliver your BER certificate and advisory report, to comply with our legal obligations under SEAI BER assessor regulations, and to respond to any follow-up queries you may have about your BER.
Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal data on the following lawful bases under GDPR Article 6: (a) contractual necessity — to provide the BER assessment service you have requested or are enquiring about; (b) legal obligation — to comply with SEAI BER assessor regulations and register BER certificates on the national database; and (c) legitimate interest — to follow up on quote enquiries and improve our services, where this does not override your fundamental rights.
How We Share Your Information
We share property data with the SEAI as required by law for BER registration. We use Formspree to process quote request forms submitted through our website. We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to any other third parties. We do not use your information for marketing purposes unless you have specifically requested updates from us.
How Long We Keep Your Information
We retain BER assessment records for the duration of the BER certificate validity (up to 10 years) plus an additional 2 years, in line with SEAI requirements for BER assessors. Contact details provided for quotes that don't proceed to a booking are deleted within 12 months.
Your Rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you (right of access); request correction of inaccurate data (right to rectification); request deletion of your data, subject to our legal obligations to SEAI (right to erasure); restrict or object to the processing of your data in certain circumstances; request your data in a portable, machine-readable format (right to data portability); and lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie) if you believe your data has been mishandled. International Data Transfers
Quote request forms submitted through our website are processed by Formspree, Inc., based in the United States. Formspree processes data under Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as approved by the European Commission, ensuring an adequate level of data protection for transfers outside the EEA. For details, see Formspree's privacy policy. All other personal data (BER assessment records, contact details) is stored and processed within Ireland.

Our website uses minimal cookies for basic website functionality. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics that track individual users across the web.
